Granmance is a portmanteau of grandparent and romance. It describes a deep and transformative bond between a young person and older adult—such as a grandmother or mentor—characterized by shared adventures, friendship, and wisdom that bridges generations. It was inspired by Alisa Fisher's contemporary young adult novel, FINDING IZZY.

"Close ties are good for us and provide health benefits. Having someone you can rely on and trust reduces stress and enhances well-being." Clare Ansberry

"When it comes to lasting romance, passion has nothing on friendship." Arthur Brooks

"Opening up to someone and sharing your deepest feelings is one of the most healing things you can do. It is a beautiful expression of life." Alisa Fisher
